Every February our office makes an intentional effort to highlight the accomplishments and contributions of African, African American, Pan-African people and culture. This is done through a great deal of collaborations with our wonderful students, student organizations we support, on campus faculty/staff, CSU departments, alumni, and Northern Colorado community members. Some of our events include: Kick-off Celebration; Keynote Speakers (past speakers: Angela Davis, Hill Harper, Melissa Harris-Perry, Laverne Cox, Mark Lamonnt Hill, Eric Thomson, Dr. Yusef Salaam, Wesley Hamilton); Black Women’s Summit; The Hair Show; Open Mic Night; and southern-style lunch at Aspen Grille. Be looking out as promotion will start soon to announce a great time of celebration, education, and awareness of Black/African American Culture.
