B.E.S.T Job Components to Consider

  • Must have at least a 2.5 GPA to apply/continue working and be in good academic standing for the year
  • Be able to attend mandatory weekly staff meetings (Thursdays at 8:00a – 9:30a)
  • Must be in attendance for the duration of Fall Staff Training (Week of August 14th – 18th)
  • Available to work up to 10 hours a week
    • Pay Rate: $15/hr
  • Must have access to Work Study (Need/Merit)

Qualifications

  • Mentor and Lead student staff, become a resource for their growth
Responsibilities
  1. Attend weekly meeting with Professional Staff
  2. Attend weekly B/AACC office meeting (Thursdays 8:00a – 9:30a)
  3. Meet weekly with ROP mentors
  4. Assist with ROP class planning
  5. Collect and review mentor logs
  6. Lead team building activities on retreat and at all staff meetings
  7. Coordinate staff dinners/outings
  8. Coordinate ROP outings/meetings
  9. 1st point of contact for BEST staff in general
  10. Assess office for efficiency
  11. Conduct office usage and climate surveys
  12. Coordinate the collection of data for selected programs
  13. Organize and Maintain the U:Drive…delegate this task and monitor
  14. Assist in developing and implementing programs and office plans
  15. Maintain confidentiality
  1. Assist professional staff with coordination and implementation of B/AACC office programming
  2. Attend all Staff Trainings (Fall & Spring Semester)
  3. Attend weekly B/AACC office meeting (Thursdays 8:00a – 9:30a)
  4. Assist in maintaining inclusive and welcoming office environment
  5. Become familiar with important program details
  6. Serve as the liaison for all student initiated programs for the B/AACC office
  7. Must be able to work on more than one project at a time and complete the assigned tasks on schedule
  8. Attend B/AACC office programs
  9. Clerical Duties as assigned
  10. Clean office daily (after lunch and at end of the day)
  11. Abide by office expectations
  1. Attend the weekly Rites of Passage Leadership peer mentor meeting: (Mondays from 5pm – 6pm)
  2. Attend Rites of Passage retreat and all outings for the year
  3. Assist with the coordination and administrative details of the Peer Mentoring program including making recommendations for program changes
  4. Maintain weekly contact logs
  5. Communicate weekly with mentees
  6. Assist mentees with questions and concerns
  7. Other duties as assigned

  1. Assist professional staff with coordination and implementation of B/AACC office programming.
  2. Attend weekly B/AACC office meeting (Thursdays 8:00a – 9:30a)
  3. Demonstrable multimedia graphic design skills with a portfolio
  4. Up to date with industry leading software and technologies (In Design, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, etc.) – not required but highly encouraged 
  5. Create all B/AACC print and online advertising materials and update all advertising on website, social media outlets, and posters/handbills/brochures
  6. Update the design of the GRIOT and complete each issue once all articles are received from student staff and other students.
  7. Help create and maintain fresh and up-to-date social media presence on multiple platforms
  8. Weekly/Daily post for social media to stay current and connected with students/alumni/faculty & staff/community member, etc.
  9.  Abide by office expectations
  10. Clean office daily (after lunch and at end of the day)
  11. Clerical duties as assigned
